Welcome to Anambra, Mr President — The Young Progressives Party in Anambra Supports the Renewed Hope
Mr President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on behalf of myself and the members of our party, the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Anambra Chapter, I warmly welcome you to our great state, Anambra.
Mr President, your August visit to our dear state marks the first presidential visit to Anambra in over a decade outside of a campaign season.
Your love for Ndi Anambra is not in doubt. You have consistently stood by our state in times of need. Just a few weeks ago, you flagged off the second phase of road construction around the Second Niger Bridge. You have also sustained efforts to complete the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway — a critical lifeline for our people.
Your Excellency, we acknowledge the brave decisions you are making to return Nigeria to the path of sustainable growth. Your Renewed Hope economic reforms are a painful but necessary corrective surgery to restore Nigeria to a sound economic foundation. This agenda focuses on increasing agricultural output by transforming Nigeria into a hub of mechanised farming — beginning with the recent purchase of 2,000 tractors and consistent support for smallholder farmers. You have also streamlined taxes and tax administration through a new bill aimed at transforming the business environment and easing the burden on enterprises across the country.
The Young Progressives Party is currently the rave-of-the-moment party in Anambra State. We are supported by thousands of passionate youths committed to ending mediocrity and transforming Anambra into a truly progressive state.
At the YPP, we genuinely believe in your Renewed Hope Agenda. We have tailored our agricultural policies to align with your focus on smallholder farmers and food security. Our vision for health, education, and targeted infrastructure growth mirrors the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
We are focused on equipping and modernising healthcare centres across the state to ensure access to quality healthcare for all, regardless of class or status.
In education, we share your vision of transforming the educational landscape. Like you, we are committed to scaling up infrastructure in public schools, making them skill-focused, and training quality teachers who understand what it truly means to educate and be educated.
In business and economic reform, we fully support your proposed tax reforms. Our vision in Anambra is to streamline tax collection into a few clear and unambiguous categories, with a seamless and painless process for taxpayers. In support of your industrialisation drive, we aim to make Anambra the industrial hub of the South-East by ensuring energy availability. We plan to harness the abundant domestic gas resources in Anambra to achieve this goal. The YPP will also champion a “Nigerian First” policy — with “Made in Anambra” and “Made in Nigeria” as our default priorities.
We also share your belief in local government autonomy. For us, local government independence is central to our strategy to revive the rural economy and lift thousands out of poverty.
Your Excellency, once again, welcome to Anambra State. But do note: the Young Progressives Party is the only truly progressive party in the state that has the interest of the people at heart.
