To boost the effectiveness of the Governor-elect, Cee-Cee Soludo and his incoming government team to epitomize, “READY TO GOVERN and build a liveable and prosperous smart megacity, on Thursday, January 20, 2022 the Anambra governorship transition committee Headed by Dr Oby Ezekwesili; an economic policy expert was officially inaugurated at the Conference Centre of Golden Tulip Agulu Lake Hotel and was given a 6-weeks deadline to submit and deliver its report.
For an elected governor to be ready to govern from inauguration day, it is a culture that at the end of every administration, government sets up a plan to transit into the next administration.
With only about 130 days between election day and the inauguration, the Governor-elect, have put together a Pan-Igbo team of professionals to help guide, advice and create plan for his new government, to laise with a team set up by the State government, to help look at what has happened in the eight years of governor Willie Obiano’s administration and ensure that they have proper documentation and to make sure his administration is prepared to hit the ground running from the inauguration day.
The committee which is charged to set an agenda for the first 100-days for the governor-elect, has further been divided into 23-task teams.
Preparation for a seamsless transition is always important, but this is even more so, as the state transit to a post-oil World and the 4th Industrial Revolution. Currently, we are faced with the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout, dwindling federal government allocation of revenue caused by a fall in global oil prices.
When Cee-Cee Soludo takes the oath of office on March 17, 2022 he will among other things respond to concerns born from the pandemic, and other potential crises such as Anambra existential threats, the annual flooding of riverine communities and inland roads, a move from informal commercial activities to a formal activities.
Ndi-Anambra are enjoined to work together to build on the foundations of the State’s founding fathers to create that enjoyable homeland that is the industrial, technology and leisure hub of West Africa.
