TODAY IS WORLD MUSIC DAY

Music has always been with man since the beginning of time it is the spice of life, the climax of every event, it is what gives the world colour, vibration and mood. It unites friends, families and does together to share in a moment of joy and happiness.
Before I proceed, let me do the honours of informing us that today is an important day in the entertainment industry. Today the 21st of June, 2022 is world music day, a day set aside by the united nations to honour all kinds of genres of music and musicians from all parts of the world. Today is basically a gift to all musicians of the world for bringing our imagination to live using beats, lyrics, unique sounds and instruments.
It first began in France in 1976 by an American musician Joel Cohen who proposed an idea of an all night music festival on june 21st to mark the beginning of summer solstice. Another theory of the beginning of world music day is that it by the French minister of culture Jack Lang who had the idea to celebrate music and musicians. Well despite not having a solid invention background, we should still be thankful to the Minister and Joel Cohen for giving us the idea to celebrate the musical industry.
Nigerian music from gospel to afrobeat is gradually taking the world by storm. The beat, rhythm, lyrics gives a particular joy that makes you want to jump out of your seat and vibe to it all day. While the world celebrates their favourite music and musicians. Let us remember our country’s and state’s own musics and musicians.
Anambra state has splendid artistes with renowned taste in music, that projects the Nigerian contemporary music in both English and Igbo language. The artistes have a sweet blend of both cultural and pop music to give their audience the renowed entertainment they deserve while portraying their culture, heritage, talents and tradition. Artistes like Umu Obiligbo, Phyno, Theresa Onuorah, Emajor, Ifé, Flavour etc are effortlessly serving us these admirable songs that conveys deep meanings and expression. Their talents are notwithstanding one of the greatest the country have and appreciating them is the least we can do on this
As we all celebrate our favourite genre of music and our favourite musician, let’s us also encourage the up coming artistes who are striving daily, putting rigorous efforts into their skills and talents just to entertain us. Let us give them the chance to fully develop and become renowed artistes like above mentioned talents and strive in the entertainment Industry.
