There has emerged a “national debate and discussions” over the call made by the Anambra governor-elect, Chukwuma Soludo recently in Abuja, on the need for a disruptive change in the Nigeria’s political leadership, need to disengage the culture of rentier politics through effective selfless leadership and need for the emergence of a new nation that works for its citizens just as we once had in the first republic.

In pursuit of a brighter future in the country’s political system, Soludo has triggered hope of a renaissance governance. He is confident about Nigeria and its future. He believes strongly that a new Nigeria must emerge from the grassroot level development, but before it’s emergence, the odd hurdles and challenges along the path must be disrupted.

The price to be paid to be a better nation is higher and dangerous. To experience a new dawn, to leave a legacy and to make a difference, there must be adaptation by everyone who is expected to cause a change; political leadership should be seen as a purpose driven and not a dining table.
