SOLUDO CELEBRATES MOTHERS ON CATHOLIC MOTHERING DAY, SAYS WOMEN ARE A SPECIAL BREED

Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Anambra State Governor has described mothers as a special breed deserving of celebration.

Governor Soludo made this remark during a Sunday Mass held at the Governor’s Lodge to mark the Catholic Church Mothering Day

He said mothers are the foundation of homes and play a decisive role in building homes adding that the importance of mothers therefore cannot be overemphasized in the society at large.

He further described mothers as the livewire of homes, stressing that life will be nothing without mothers. He emphasized that the hand that cradles the child rules the world, saying that is what mothers represent

Governor Soludo also spoke on the decadence in the society arising from the unbridled quest to make quick money. “The moment the society stops asking people what they do for a living, the society begins to die”. He said

“We need to get back to the foundation which is the home,” Governor Soludo further emphasized.

Soludo also used the occasion to admonished the youths and the prevailing insecurity in the State. He again appealed to those who have embarked on killing, destroying and burning of buildings to dedist from such unholy acts. He advised them to accept the hand of fellowship offered by government adding that government will help rehabilitate and get them engaged in productive activities.

He called on those in the bush to come out so that they will be reintegrated into the society stressing that there will be no space for criminal elements in Anambra State

Governor Soludo reiterated that the dream of Anambra must be realised in the quest to building a livable and prosperous homeland for all

Earlier, in his homily, Reverend Father Raphael Azubuike Onyekwelu emphasised the importance of the occasion to the Catholic Church in celebrating mothers across the globe

Rev. Onyekwelu reiterated in his message that the importance of mothers in the home and society at large cannot be overemphasized
