*Solemnity of Palm Sunday*

By Hon. Chidi Ibemeka, FCAI
Palm Sunday is commemorative of the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, to signify his kingship and royalty. This event is well documented in the canonical gospels in the scripture.
The solemnity of the Palm Sunday comes a week ahead of Easter, in essence a prelude to the holy week, in preparation for the end of the Christian Lenten season.
As we sing “hosanna in the highest”, we submit to the kingship and lordship of Jesus Christ. It is expected that we commit our souls and endeavours to Him for leadership and guidance.
May we live up to the intent and purpose of the feast of Palm Sunday by surrendering our lives and burden to our creator through whom we all live and move and have our beings.
I wish you all wonderful feast and a successful holy week ahead.
