Former Nigeria’s President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 described Anambra governor-elect, Chukwuma Soludo as a blessing to Ndi-Anambra and Nigerians at large. Chief Obasanjo who was chairman of the Maiden Symposium of Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy made this known in Awka, the state capital.
Drumming support for Soludo, Obasanjo urged Ndi-Anambra to trust his administration to deliver on the liveable and prosperous smart Megacity vision. He recalled how he first appointed Soludo in 2003 to serve in his administration and, later gave him a bigger opportunity and trust to deliver on core mandates, even though such a decision didn’t come without heavy criticism. He was glad that those who criticized his appointment of Soludo as CBN Governor later came to appreciate his decision.

The former president noted that Soludo was able to put Nigeria’s economy and financial system on the world map because he diligently and meticulously fixed the Nigerian macroeconomy and as the CBN Governor, he ensured price and financial stability. Soludo equally did his job with first-class grades and promoted excellence and productivity throughout Nigeria.
Obasanjo noted that ndi-Anambra is blessed with a Governor who has vast experience in implementing policies and crafting Programme that will ensure greater transformation, economic prosperity and job creation
Chukwuma Soludo will on Thursday, March 17, 2022, be sworn in as the next governor of Anambra State and will become the second former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria to govern a state after Clement Isong of Cross-Rivers state.
