It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and celebration as friends, family, and well-wishers gathered in Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area, to celebrate the birthday of one of their own — Hon. Chinedu Nwoye, fondly known as “Glamour.” But this birthday celebration was unlike any other.

In a powerful gesture of love for his people, Hon. Nwoye marked his special day by donating a brand-new building to Uruorji Village. The facility includes a modern meeting hall, an ICT centre, and a mini clinic — all designed to serve the immediate and long-term needs of the community.

Among the dignitaries present was the Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, who was full of praise for the celebrant.

“This is more than a birthday celebration. This is leadership in action. Glamour has shown us what it means to remember home, to give back, and to invest in people,” Mrs. Nnake told AnambraNews.ng during a chat at the event.

She described Hon. Nwoye’s donation as a rare and selfless act that should inspire others across the state. According to her, what Glamour has done is exactly the kind of partnership the Soludo-led administration encourages — where individuals work hand-in-hand with government to bring development directly to the grassroots.

“Government alone cannot do everything. We need more people like Glamour — people who will look around their communities, see what’s missing, and take action. This is how we’ll build the Anambra of our dreams,” she added.

The newly commissioned building is more than just a structure. It’s a gift of opportunity, empowerment, and care. The ICT Centre will help young people acquire digital skills for today’s tech-driven world.

The Clinic will bring basic healthcare closer to residents who need it.The Community Hall will serve as a meeting ground for village matters, conflict resolution, and social bonding. For the people of Uruorji Village, this development is nothing short of a dream come true.

Chief Anthony Ezeonwuka, a respected elder in Nawfia, spoke with emotion as he thanked Hon. Nwoye for remembering home.

“Many forget where they come from, but Glamour has shown us what it means to carry your people along. We are proud of him,” he said.

Young people in the community were equally excited, especially about the ICT centre, which they described as “a game-changer.”

Mrs. Nnake used the opportunity to call on other well-meaning individuals across Njikoka and Anambra State to emulate this gesture. She emphasized that development becomes faster and more impactful when communities and government work together.

“We welcome partnerships like this — from churches, from unions, from hometown associations. When people bring ideas and resources, the government is ready to support. That’s the spirit of the new Anambra,” she concluded.

As music played, cultural dancers performed, and prayers were offered for Hon. Nwoye, the event closed on a note of gratitude and hope — a reminder that one person’s kind gesture can truly light up an entire community.
