Governor Obiano Launches Comprehensive Medical Centre At Awkuzu

The health of Anambra people has been a top priority on the agenda of his excellency Chief Willie Obiano’s administration.
The governor inaugurated a comprehensive medical center at Awkuzu, Oyi local government area. The building which was originally the Primary Health Centre was refurbished by some illustrious personalities from Awkuzu, who go by the collective name, Adinma Awkuzu.
While the governor rehashed his government’s scheme and concerns on health, he laid emphasis on infrastructure, the welfare of the patients, and the same of the health practitioners. He indicated how his government empowered Anambra’s health sector beginning from the local level.
He said that through the mentioned media, his administration has done great things such as setting up five hundred and two health facilities, acquiring Keke Napep ambulances, founding Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, ASHIA, and a host of other establishments which the federal government applauded.
 Chief Willie Obiano charged the affluent ones in the community to register the people with the health insurance scheme. He complimented them for the work they put into giving the health facility a better look.
He implored the general community to put an eye on the youth who engage in all sorts of criminal activities; he said that the people should work with government authorized agencies to help fight crime in the society.
Present at the event were the king of Awkuzu community, Igwe Charles Anikweze, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor, Emeritus Archbishop and Emeritus Dean Church of Nigeria, Most Revd. Maxwell S.C Anikwenwa and other dignitaries.
