Award-winning writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been conferred with an honorary Doctorate degree from the prestigious Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

This institution which is one of the oldest Catholic universities in the world has on Friday honoured Chimamanda at their main campus.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie hails from Oba in Anambra state. She is a writer whose works explore themes like feminism, race, culture, religion, politics, and the rest.

She has used her books as a medium to educate and enlighten the world, one step at a time.

Professor Vincent Blondel, the Rector of the seat of learning, said Adichie “develops a discourse on gender equality rooted in singular experience and is universal in scope.”

Further, he said, “She focuses on the experience of differences and makes us feel the fragility of what we sometimes hold to be true without having questioned it.”
