Hon. DC Ononiba Inaugurates Enugwu-Ukwu Security Team, Charges Members on Patriotism, Efficiency, and Accountability

The Executive Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Chinedu D. Ononiba, has officially inaugurated the Finance and Management Team of the Agunechemba Security Initiative in Enugwu-Ukwu, calling for heightened vigilance, patriotism, efficiency, and probity in their operations.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Enugwu-Ukwu Civic Centre, marked a significant milestone in the local government’s efforts to bolster security and safeguard lives and property across Njikoka LGA.
Addressing the newly inaugurated team, Mayor Ononiba emphasized the need for synergy among security stakeholders to achieve tangible and lasting impact. He urged the Agunechemba team to work closely with key national security agencies—including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)—to ensure a coordinated and proactive approach to community safety.
“This initiative is not just about presence; it is about purpose,” Mayor Ononiba stated. “We must collectively strive to build a security architecture that is efficient, transparent, and community-driven. The task ahead requires total commitment, integrity, and unwavering patriotism.”
Also speaking at the event, the Deputy Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Hon. Uju Fidelia Okafor, highlighted the crucial role security plays in the overall development of any community. She urged the members of the Agunechemba Finance and Management Team to execute their responsibilities with diligence, accountability, and a clear sense of mission.
The newly inaugurated team members pledged their dedication to the cause, promising to contribute meaningfully toward making Enugwu-Ukwu and Njikoka at large safer and more secure.
Representatives from the Nigerian security agencies present at the event reaffirmed their readiness to collaborate with the Agunechemba Security Team. They described the initiative as a forward-thinking model of community policing and expressed optimism about its impact.
Other community leaders and stakeholders who attended the ceremony commended Mayor Ononiba for his visionary leadership, describing the Agunechemba initiative as a “quantum leap” in local security management and a model for other LGAs across Anambra State.
With the formal launch of the Agunechemba Security Team, Njikoka Local Government is poised to set a benchmark in grassroots security coordination—reinforcing its commitment to safety, stability, and community well-being.
