Anambra Guber Polls would aid in testing Labour Party’s Expected Victory in 2027 Elections- Julius Abure
The National Chairman of the Labour Party Julius Abure has said that the Anambra State governorship elections slated for November 2025 would aid the Labour Party to test their expected victory in the presidential elections come 2027.
In a forum organized by an organ of the party, Directorate of Mobilization and Integration, DMI, represented by the national women leader of the party, Mrs Dudu Manuga in Awka, Anambra State for aspirants of the party to meet with their delegates, ahead of the primary election which comes up on Saturday.Abure state that “We want to use Anambra to test what 2027 will be. Labour party has grown beyond a briefcase party, we are in all the states of Nigeria and Abuja and we are getting ready not just for Anambra but for 2027”. After the primary election this Saturday, no one is permitted to be angry. We will all join hands to emerge in the main election in November. Let us not be weak, let us not biker, let us all stand strong, be united and nothing will be impossible for us to achieve.
“This forum is to bring the aspirants together and make them integrate with the people they want to govern. We will plant LP in every polling unit. What is happening today in Anambra is crucial for our victory in 2027.”
Muslim Leaders Anambra Chapter Preach peace, Endorse Soludo for Second Term
Marking this year’s Eid-el- Fire celebrations the Muslim Leaders Onitsha Chapter called on peace and mutual co-existence among Nigerians of all faith.
The Kabiyesi of Yoruba in Onitsha, Alhaji Abraham Zubairu, who is also the Chairman, Anambra State Muslim Council made the call while addressing some members of the Muslim community at the Eid praying ground in Onitsha on Monday. He also called on his Muslim brothers to join hands to work for the re-election of the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in the November 8, 2025 governorship election. In his words, addressing how Gov Soludo has ensures their safety in his administration, he said “The governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has done well in ensuring our safety in Anambra State. Since he came on board he has been working tirelessly to develop the state”
“We pray that God will protect the governor and continue to give him more wisdom as he pilots the affairs of the state. We also pray for Ndi Anambra for continue prosperity and peaceful coexistence in the state”.“There have been massive road constructions and other infrastructural developments in the state since Prof. Chukwuma Soludo took over as governor, therefore the Muslim community would re-elect the governor to continue his good works in the state, I pray for Anambra State.
Nwosu, Moughalu scale through LP screening, to compete for Party Primaries
Two governorship aspirants of the Labour party in Anambra State, Sir John Nwosu and Chief George Muoghalu have been screened and confirmed candidates for the party’s primaries fixed for April 5, 2025. This was conducted over the weekend by the party’s National Working Committee. The chairman of the screening committee, the Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon Ozodinobi speaking at the event, hailed the two aspirants for being true party members and also commended them for their track records and loyalty to the leadership of the party. He assured them of the party’s non partisan approach towards its selection process and its commitment in ensuring that the best aspirants emerge.
Soludo Sympathizes with Fire Loss Victims
The Anambra State governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has sympathized with victims who lost their possessions over the fire incident which occurred at the popular Iweka road, at Ifejika Street, Onitsha, where goods and properties worth millions were burnt down to ashes.
The fire which occurred on Friday, March 28th, 2025 and destroyed two four-story buildings. Has recorded no loss of lives, though significant property and goods were lost. In a statement by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the governor said that the incident underscored and re-emphasised the need for public caution against using residential areas as unauthorised warehouses. He said this is in consideration of the fact that obstructed access roads severely hinder firefighting efforts.
“Therefore, developers and landlords are strongly advised to adhere strictly to building standards, secure permits from relevant government agencies, and ensure no obstruction to access roads for emergency vehicles in case of distress,”
Ezeugwu Wins Anambra SMASE Africa-IDK Mathematics Championship
Miss Prisca Ezeugwu of Lorreto Special Science School, Adazi-Nnukwu has emerged overall winner of the Anambra State SMASE Africa – IDK Mathematics Championship held in Awka.
Master Kamsiyochukwu Anigbogu of Divine Race British School, Obosi, emerged overall winner in the middle category, while Master Obinna Nwigwe of Ridge Valley Academy, Awka emerged the winner in the junior category.
The three overall winners who went home with brand new computers, appreciated the organizers of the event, their parents and teachers for giving them such an opportunity.
Explaining the reason for the mathematics championship, the Chief Executive Officer of Integral Development Konsult Learning Centre, IDK, Awka, Mrs Chinwe Nweke, said it is because mathematics is the bedrock of all science and technology, and to strengthen mathematics and science education, as well as prepare Anambra students for the pre-world, even as she revealed other stages the students will go through to qualify for competing at the global stage.
Insecurity In Anambra: Soludo inaugurates New Security Supervisory Committee
In view of enhancing the state of security in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially inaugurated a new state security supervisory committee. The event was held at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
The Committee consists of the Governor or his representative, Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Special Adviser on Security, representative of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Others includes Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Security, Chairman, State Council of Traditional Rulers, Mayors of the twenty one local government areas, State Counsel from the Ministry of Justice.
Explaining the need for the committee, Soludo said that among other things, the new committee is charged with the mandate of ensuring that the Units of Agunechemba and their members are duly registered in accordance with the law, monitor their activities and generally improve the overall security landscape in the state.
Anambra Technovation: Government, Edves Collaborates to develop 22 Smart Schools in Anambra.
In line with Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s mandate to revolutionize learning in Anambra State, his administration is setting a new benchmark in education transformation with the deployment of Edves, an Artificial Intelligence-powered digital infrastructure designed to revolutionise teaching, learning and administration across the 22 pilot Smart Schools in all 22 local government areas. This initiative is aimed at integrating artificial intelligence, data-driven insights, and automation to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement in schools.
Governor Soludo explained that recognizing the need for a robust and scalable solution, Anambra State conducted a rigorous selection process, evaluating multiple platforms before selecting Edves as the most competent to power Smart Learn Anambra Solution Smart Schools.
While the CEO/CoFounder of Edves, Dimeji Falana, said the partnership goes beyond automation to empower educators and students with tools that foster deep inquiry, hands-on learning, and real-world application of knowledge.
