ANAMBRA NEWS TEAM CELEBRATES HON. ANTHONY IFEANYA , COMMISSIONER FOR PETROLEUM AND MINERAL RESOURCES ON HIS BIRTHDAY.
The day calls for celebration as one of the leading figures in Anambra State turns a year older.
Sir (Barr.) Anthony Ikechukwu Ifeanya (Chief Akaekpuchionwa ) is the honourable Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources in our dear Anambra State.
The noble man with the heart and poise of a King was born on 21st May, 1963. He attended Community Primary School, Anaku, where he got his First School Leaving Certificate. For his secondary education, he took to Modebe Memorial Secondary school, Onitsha. Upon graduation in 1981, he proceeded to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Coal City State.
Being a lover of education and orderliness, he advanced to the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Law. He went through Nigeria Law School, Lagos and upon completion in 1997, he was called to Bar the following year.
In 2002, he started practicing Law as a Principal Partner with A.I. Ifeanya and Co.–his own law firm.
He worked for almost a decade with top Nigerian conglomerate–Ekene Dilichukwu Group of Companies–which is popular for their prime product, Ekene dilichukwu Motors. His position with the company centred around Legal and administrative affairs.
Barr. Anthony Ikechukwu Ifeanya served his local government as Chairman, Ayamelum Local Government Education Authority. A position he occupied from 2000 to 2005.
He also worked as the Local Government’s Transition Committee Chairman from 2011 to 2014.
He belongs to a number of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Bar Association, Law Students Association (UNEC), where he once served as a Secretary General and even headed the Assembly and Oyi Local Government Students Association as a President from 1993 to 1994. He has being an active member of Ayamelum Leaders of Thought since 2011.
The learned gentleman is a devoted Catholic, whose love for God and humanity is evident in his lifestyle and works. He is a Grand Patron of Catholic Women Organisation, Onitsha Archdiocese as well as Alter Knights Association, Igbariam Region. He is a Patron of the Laity Council of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Mayor of Catholic Men Organisation, Onitsha Region and Cardinal Pillar of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Anaku.
Hon. Anthony Ikechukwu Ifeanya is a great asset to the State and his party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) where he has been serving as Secretary General since 2015.
His great works in the offices he has served gave him a ladder into the list of Commissioners recently appointed Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
