Nigeria Needs Wealth Creators As Leaders Not Wealthy Consumers – Peter Obi

Presidential aspirant and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, who stands on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party has aired his view on the leader Nigeria needs.

He made this known on Tuesday at a meeting with the Akwa Ibom State PDP chapter which was held at the state capital, Uyo.

The former Governor said that Nigeria in his blueprint is one that has creativity and innovation at its core. He mentioned his mission and devotion which centers around wealth creation and productivity and not consumption.

He stated that the era of sharing Nigeria’s resources which is termed the “national cake”, is now a thing of the past. According to him, the time calls for baking cakes and not sharing cakes. He said that the cake to be baked is not to be shared.

He told all present about the need for another set of leaders who are focused on creating wealth for the sake of the generations on the way.

He mentioned education, security, power generation, and manufacturing among the sectors to be looked into; he said that these are the major areas that will cause a progressive movement from where Nigeria stands.

Obi said: “My mission is to create a change in Nigeria from consumption to production and from wealth sharing to wealth creation.

“The cake we are sharing now has finished. What we need to do now is to bake more cakes. There is no more cake to share anymore. And those cakes we are going to bake are not for sharing.

“We will have a new system where the teeming unemployed youths are given a future. They are going to be driving the process. So, there is no need to share. Consuming is finished, and we are now talking about production.

“The new Nigeria will be creating and producing not the Nigeria where people are sharing money.”

He mentioned that incapability on the part of the nation’s economic managers and insecurity played some roles in the deteriorated position the country finds itself in. He said the times call for a rescue mission.

Obi charged the people of the state to consider the future of their children while they vote. He said the personality and ethnicity of any candidate should not count at the voting scene.
