The executive Governor of Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has invited landlords of houses marked for demolition in Okpoko and Onitsha. It is known that Governor Soludo had already had his eyes clapped on Okpoko even before his inauguration as the Governor of Anambra state.
It has always been in him to change Okpoko from a slum to a megacity in the state. On Friday March 18, 2022, the day after his inauguration into office, he went to Okpoko to see the present state of the community and forge a way forward.
He has plans in place for the development of the community and Onitsha is not left out of this project. A few weeks ago, the Governor had ordered and had personally supervised a thorough cleanup in the metropolis.
A part of the cleanup involved marking some of the buildings that stand in the way of the drainage systems. It was discovered that the area gets flooded during the rainy season and these buildings make it difficult for the environment to be drained and free of such environmental hazard.
The Governor has sent across a message to the landlords of the buildings that he would have a meeting with them on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at Onitsha South Local Government office by 12 noon.
Governor Soludo works for the good of the state. Okpoko and Onitsha is about witness a wave of change in the hands of our good Governor.
