President Buhari Celebrates Veteran Actor, Pete Edochie As He Clocks 75

The veteran actor Chief Pete Edochie who is known for usually playing the roles of king and father in movies, has turned seventy five. Other actors from the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood as well as musicians were there to congratulate and celebrate with him. President Buhari joined in the celebration and wished the actor the good things of life.
The actor came to limelight when he played the role of Okonkwo on screen from Chinua Achebe’s popular novel, Things Fall Apart. His outstanding acting skills in the movie brought him before the world, hence giving Nigeria and Africa a facelift.
According to Femi Adesina, The Special Adviser to the President on Media, the President congratulated the actor for the host of pioneering and inspiring roles he has played in Nigeria’s movie industry especially in the movie Things Fall Apart.
The president remarked that the experience the actor has gathered working in different parts of the country and the globe after being a staff to the country’s railway corporation and the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation, did so much to his capability on-stage performance.
President Buhari noted that the actor’s roles in movies have done a lot in the growth of Nollywood. He said that Chief Pete Edochie has helped to make Nigeria’s movie industry what it is today. He also applauded him for grooming the younger generation in the industry. President Buhari wished the actor God’s blessings and long life as he turned a year older.
