200 Anambra Farmers Benefit from Tinubu’s RHI Agricultural Support Programme

In a significant boost to agriculture in Anambra State, 200 local farmers have received critical support through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Agricultural Support Programme. This intervention aims to empower farmers, enhance food production, and strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The initiative, spearheaded by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, provides farmers with essential resources such as fertilizers, improved seedlings, farm equipment, and financial aid. The program, which is being rolled out across the country, is a direct response to the challenges farmers face, including rising production costs and climate-related setbacks.
A Lifeline for Anambra Farmers
Speaking at the distribution event, government officials emphasized the federal government’s commitment to ensuring food security and economic empowerment for rural communities. Beneficiaries of the program expressed gratitude, stating that the assistance would boost their yields, reduce operational costs, and improve their livelihoods.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Chukwudi Okafor, a cassava and maize farmer from Awka North, described the support as “a timely intervention that will help small-scale farmers expand their businesses.” Similarly, Mrs. Ngozi Eze, a rice farmer from Anambra West, commended the initiative, stating that “this program has given us renewed hope in the agricultural sector, and we are ready to work harder to feed our people.”
Government’s Vision for Agriculture in Anambra
The RHI Agricultural Support Programme aligns with President Tinubu’s broader economic agenda to boost agricultural productivity, reduce reliance on food imports, and create employment opportunities within the sector. It is also part of efforts to mitigate the effects of inflation on food prices and improve the income of local farmers.
Sustaining Agricultural Growth
As Anambra continues to harness its vast agricultural potential, stakeholders have called for continued investment in rural farming communities, mechanized agriculture, and agro-processing industries. The state government has pledged to work closely with federal agencies to expand similar initiatives, ensuring that more farmers benefit from long-term agricultural policies.
With the successful implementation of the RHI Agricultural Support Programme, Anambra farmers now have greater access to the resources they need to thrive, further solidifying the state’s position as a key player in Nigeria’s food production drive.
